Wood block print and gold leaf
68x98cm
Serpent's Allurement is part of a group exhibition project I did at the art gallery in Temple University Japan. The paper is handmade from Korea, and I bathed it in coffee for the specific color. The initial capitals in the verses were made using linocuts and ink. I have also applied gold leaf to the work. The rest of the letters were made by burning the letters into the wood and printing them on the paper. The passages are inspired by a novel by C.S Lewis called The Screwtape Letters, and my fear of Hell.
